North is a cardinal direction. The north star or pole star maintains its constancy whilst surrounded by change. It is an essential bearing for navigation at sea. Current geodigital mapping has challenged the status of priority for 'north' having existed for so long at the top of the page, it questions how we situate ourselves within an ever shifting, global socioeconomical context.

This body of work began with a drawing of the night sky. It developed through various print processes, surfaces and moving image with the aim of challenging heirarchies that exist within categorisation. The formal elements of the circle, its relationship to line and coordinates provide an element of constancy.
